Insidious
The movie starts off with the title sequence for the production companies, Im Globe and Alliance Films. After these blood red words come onto the screen with a black background so that they stand out but then they slowly fade away. After this more words fade onto the screen in the same fashion, which read ' An Alliance Films and Im Global Presentation of a Haunted Movie production'. All of these words are giving off a small amount of smoke and eventually fade away the same way the last set of words did. A light coloured circle comes onto the screen then 'A James Wan Film' Is printed across it. The ball slowly turns to reveal that it is a light hanging from the ceiling in a child's room. The camera slowly pans down to focus on the child in the bed then pans right to go around the room and out of the door. The camera then moves as if it is somebody walking through the hallways to set the scene of where the movie will be based. The camera then zooms in onto something, that looks like a ghost, holding a candle. After this the camera fades to black then the film name 'Insidious' flashes onto the screen in big, capital, red letters and stays there for a few seconds. The background is completely black and there is sounds in the background, it is similar to a screeching sound. They may have done this because they were building up suspense through the panning and they make it explode with the title of the movie. After a few seconds both the title and the sound fade and fades to a black and white picture of a house with red writing in the bottom right corner saying 'Patrick Wilson'. Similar to others they both fade away and into another black and white photo of inside a house and it says 'Rose Byrne'. It then fades to another black and white picture of what looks like a house in the middle of somebody moving in because there are boxes around and there is red writing on the right saying 'Lin Shaye'. It then fades to yet another black and white photo of stairs in a house and there is red writing on the right saying 'Ty Simpkins' and then fades to another black and white picture from the top of the stairs looking down onto the stairs and the corridor and it says in red writing 'and Barbara Hershey' in the middle of the screen. It then switches to a view of the top of the stairs with 'Leigh Whannell' and 'Angus Sampson' in red writing in the top left of the screen. It then fades to what looks like a childs room with a cot and 'Andre Astor' and Josoph Bishara' in red writing at the left of the screen. It then fades to another black and white picture of a bedroom with the words 'Casting By Annie McCarthy Kellie Gesell' at the bottom left of the screen in red writing, it then fades to another black and white picture of what looks like a window looking out into the garden with the words ' Costume Director Kristin M.Burke' in the middle of the screen in red writing. It then fades to the same picture but from a different and and this time there is a silhouette of a man standing by the window and there is red writing saying 'Music By Joseph Bishara'. It then fades to another black and white picture of what looks like children's toys but one of the toys looks more scary then friendly' This image also has red writing in the left of the screen, this time saying 'Edited By James Wan Kirk Morri'. It again fades to another black and white image of a dinning room table but one of the chairs is slowing moving out from underneath the table without anybody moving it. This image also has red writing saying 'Production Designer Arron Sims'. It then fades to another black and white image of a corridor with a window at the end of it and this time there is a light swinging about, whist hanging from the ceiling for no apparent reason, other then to build tension. This time the red writing says 'Director of Photography John R.Leonetti asc David M.Brewer'. It then fades to another black and white image of a kitchen with red writing at the side saying 'Line Producer Jeanette Volturno Brill'. It then fades to another black and white image of a corridor with a grandfather clock at the end of it and this time the camera is tilting as if somebody was spinning it. This time the writing says 'Co-Producer John R.Leonetti Aaron Sims'. It then fades to another black and white camera shot of it panning of a corridor with footprints fading into sight then slowly fades away along with the camera to build up tension. This time the red writing says 'Executive Producer Brian Kavanaug-Jones'. It then fades to another black and white shot of what looks like it is the dining room and this time it looks as if there are boxes in the corner as if somebody is just moving in or just about to move out of the house. This time the red writing says' Produced by Jason Blum Steven Schneider Oren Peli'. It then fades to another black and white shot of a family photo of a mother, father and two sons. This time the red writing says 'Written By Leigh Whannell'. It then fades to a zoom shot of the corridor with the grandfather clock and the camera is slowly zooming in on the grandfather clock. This time the red writing says 'Directed by James Wan'. It then cuts of the shot and switches to a black and white shot of a woman in a bed but the colour slowly starts to appear until she is in full colour.
Throughout the opening title sequences the same sounds were used to build up tension and whenever it faded to a new shot or image it would increase pitch of the sound so that it was higher so that it makes people more anxious.
