There isn’t really a gender specifically targeted by our film. This is because it is hard to aim horror movies towards a specific genre and because if we aim it towards a gender then it may limit what people may watch it.
Our audience is mainly a mature audience above the ages of 15 but because it will require us to put an age rating of 15 or 18 on it, which will limit the amount of money it can make in the box office. From the research we have performed we have found out that most of the people that will most likely to go to the cinemas to watch a horror film will be above the age of 15 and 16/17 to be more precise. Because of this we thought it would be good idea to make it a 15 instead of the 12A.
Another reason we made it 15 instead of 12 is because the cast are 16/17 and 18 year olds which means that it will be more relatable for the people watching compared to 12 and 13 year old watching because they don’t really have experience of going camping and the panic that people go through when somebody goes missing.
The age range for my film is quite large because it is mostly anyone above the age of 16 but it is also limited to people who have been camping before.
